• Build your immune system

I know that if you start building a strong immune system now you will save time, money and sick leave later.

We prefer to enjoy a hot beverages as our drink of choice during the fall and winter months. But this year, let’s step it up a notch and  include more cups of aloe vera juice, orange juice, and black tea to our drink list.

Aloe vera, is used for more then just treating  sunburns and inflamed or upset skin. You can buy aloe vera in a liquid juice form for consumption. Just a quarter glass of juice each morning is enough to accurately balance out your immune system. With the on set of a cold or flu drink two glasses of aloe vera juice daily to beat any illness to the punch. Other added benefits to drinking aloe vera juice is , it will keep your teeth and gums in top shape and  provides the body with natural detoxifying properties.

As yo may well know the more vitamin C you give your body, the stronger it will be. What easier way to get the right amount of vitamin C for your immune system than good ole orange juice. I do recommend taking supplements to make sure you’re getting the right amount. It is suggested that to fight off infections, you should take at least 1,000 mg of vitamin C a day.

Black tea drinkers will be able to appreciate its natural healing properties. This beverage is ideal for fighting the flu and has been shown to quickly build immunity to the flu virus. Recent studies in leading medical journals declare black tea a potential heart tonic, cancer blocker, fat buster, immune stimulant, arthritis soother, virus fighterand cholesterol detoxifier. Equipped with potent flavonoids, just gargling with black tea can put your immune system back on top.

Another item to add to your immune system boosting regimen is turmeric. This herb comes from the Ginger family and has been in use for many, many years. To help stimulate your immune system, you’ll need 200 mg a day.

If you are a mushroom lover add maitake mushrooms your list of new favorite foods. According to various studies, maitakes appear to boost the immune system, reduce blood sugar levels, aid in lowering blood pressure, encourage weight loss, and help to both prevent and fight cancer. With just 3-7 grams a day of maitake mushrooms  you are able to stimulate the immune system with more T-cells to ward off cancer cells and viruses.
